Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TRADEINTEL (Pty) Ltd ("drawguard.io", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the drawguard.io website, dashboard, and the MetaTrader Expert Advisor ("EA") we provide (together, the "Service"). We are based in South Africa and process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, where it applies, the GDPR.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by TRADEINTEL (Pty) Ltd (registration no. 2026/445160/07), a company based in South Africa. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@drawguard.io.

2. What we collect

Account & identity data

  • Email address and authentication details (handled by our authentication provider).
  • Optional profile information you choose to provide.

Trading account data (collected by the EA you install)

  • Trading account identifiers (e.g. MT5/MT4 account number, broker, server name).
  • Periodic account snapshots: balance, equity, margin, and open positions.
  • Closed-trade history: symbol, volume, entry/exit, profit/loss, magic number, and trade comment (backfilled from your terminal on first install and on reconnect).

What we do NOT collect

  • We do not receive your EA's source code, logic, or strategy rules. The EA we provide reads account state and trade records only — it cannot read or reverse-engineer the strategy generating your trades.
  • We do not have access to, or ability to place, trades. We never hold, transfer, or have access to your funds.
  • We do not collect broker login passwords or investor/trading passwords.

Usage & technical data

  • Standard log/analytics data (IP address, device/browser, pages used, timestamps) to operate and secure the Service.
  • Product analytics and session recordings of how you use the dashboard (pages visited, features used, clicks and scrolling, and what was on screen at the time — including your account figures such as balances, P&L and positions), linked to your account so we can understand where the product is confusing and improve it. Everything you type into form fields is masked before it leaves your browser, and your EA API key is never recorded.

Payment data

  • Payments are processed by our third-party Merchant of Record. The Merchant of Record collects and processes your billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive only limited transaction metadata (e.g. plan, status) — never full card numbers.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide the core Service: compute and display your drawdown, equity, and risk analytics by period, symbol, and strategy.
  • To send Service alerts you configure (drawdown thresholds, profit targets, margin level, connectivity loss) and essential account emails.
  • To provide support and respond to contact-form messages.
  • To secure, maintain, debug, and improve the Service.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions (via our Merchant of Record) when paid plans apply.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your trading data to trade, to advise others, or to build copy-trading products without your explicit opt-in.

4. Legal bases (where GDPR applies)

Performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, improvement), consent (where required, e.g. certain alerts/marketing), and legal obligation.

5. Where your data is stored & retention

  • Your data is stored on secure servers operated by reputable third-party infrastructure providers.
  • Raw granular trading data is retained for approximately 1 month, after which aggregated/derived analytics may be retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
  • We retain account and billing records as required for legal/accounting purposes.

6. Sharing & service providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted third-party service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements requiring them to process data only as instructed and to maintain appropriate security. These include providers for:

  • Payments — handled by our third-party Merchant of Record, under its own privacy policy.
  • Cloud hosting and database infrastructure.
  • Authentication.
  • Product analytics and session recording (hosted in the United States).
  • Transactional email and in-app alerts (e.g. drawdown thresholds).
  • Business email correspondence.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

7. Your rights

Subject to POPIA/GDPR, you may request to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email support@drawguard.io. You may also lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authority of a breach as required by law.

9. International transfers

We are based in South Africa, and your data may be processed in countries outside South Africa and the EEA. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place.

10. Cookies

The Service uses essential cookies and local storage for authentication, session management, and preferences. The dashboard also uses a first-party analytics cookie and local storage to measure product usage and record sessions (see Section 2). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

11. Disconnection gaps

If the EA is offline, no snapshots are recorded for that window and drawdown data will have gaps for the offline period. This is a limitation of how the Service collects data, disclosed here for transparency.

12. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
